I am wondering how the Preachers Block works. Do you know of anyone who has used it in the past or is currently using it? Sounds interesting :)

Yes! And I think @jenniferlayte has used it. You can sign up here https://www.signupgenius.com/go/20f0f4ba8af2aaafd0-preachers#/ for a 90-minute Zoom call by clicking "sign up" on a specific date and time - I think Zoom links are included. Put that date and time on your calendar and when the time comes, join the Zoom call and be ready to work. There may be a brief introduction or prayer where folks on the call say "hi" or very briefly share what they're working on. Then everyone just quietly gets to work on their own projects for the remainder of the call. So it's similar to other online co-working "spaces" - but the intent is to give preachers/pastors/writers/professors some dedicated time that they're showing up for, as a way to help focus work and set aside intentional time on a project, like a sermon or other writing work. Having it scheduled and knowing there are other people showing up to quietly work on their things helps provide a sense of community and accountability, I think - some structure, since ministry schedules can be so unpredictable. So kind of like an online version of going to a library and sitting a table quietly working while other people around you are quietly working at their tables - it can be easier to get something done when the people around you are too. But the nice thing about this is that the people who are working at the same time as you are other preachers and pastors and leaders, and often some are women, so for women who are in isolated contexts, it can be encouraging to see a few other faces of women in ministry writing their sermons too. :)

I thought it was a great, practical tool (and just as good, free!). A woman preacher thought it up! 😁
